21 century student

Monday, February 28, 2011 by Stanley Dixon
I was recently listening to a radio broadcast discussing the "21 century student." They were discussing the importance of a higher education degree in our current and future workforce.

Basically, there was a description of these students being of an older age than in previous decades as well as the length of time it takes to earn the diploma, which is no longer at a four-year average. Earning online educational credit is also a trend in this new breed of students. I myself was one of these students.

At The College Network, accelerated degrees and certificates are offered online through our esteemed partner universities. This is an excellent way for the modern student to utilize their time efficiently. Customers are shown a way to earn their degree quickly, but at their own pace. The diplomas earned are granted by accredited universities.

Additionally, since the degrees come from The College Network's respected partner schools, the credits have a greater chance of transferring to other schools if a student wants to take their education even further.

Overall, this is a great place for any person looking to further his or her education.

Safe and Warm

We are now moving through the winter months, and thanks to modern society, life does not stop because of snow.

Online education has a great benefit this time of year. I was lucky to live in a major city during college, so I could get to school. But once there, parking was a major issue. Many students would not be able to attend class because of their rural location.

With an online education, weather may be an asset. Imagine being snowbound... isn't this the best time to curl up with your laptop? This sounds like a great time to clamp down and really concentrate on some school work.

The College Network is a great resource for people wanting to advance their education outside of a traditional college. Offerings include: Project Management, Private Investigation, Lean Six Sigma Certifications, Paralegal Certificates, not to mention all of the inexpensive nursing degrees from leading universities.

snow storm

Don't let this be you, out in the cold. Get an online education through The College Network and get the satisfaction of staying safe and warm in your pajamas while preparing to earn your next degree or certificate.

Tell Your Friends

The College Network has such great programs that our customers will stand-up and speak for us. Word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool, and our customers are willing to share their success stories.

We even offer the EARN program, which can help our customers pay for their study materials, or reimburse them for their education simply by letting others know about The College Network. "Free Education" is nearly unheard of, and when our customers can earn more money from their career and have their education paid for... Why would they go anywhere else? Here is one example of a woman who had her tuition reimbursed. This is an amazing story:

I am always amazed that more people do not take advantage of this awesome program. I wish I had the opportunity to be reimbursed for my education. But, I can help others reap the rewards of knowing how to help get their education paid for.

We at The College Network are Here For You

I am currently working on a project at The College Network which emphasizes our commitment to our customers' success. We offer an a plethora of courses for adults looking to continue their education.

Whether you are looking to earn a better salary by upgrading your EMT to RN (with the Online Paramedic to RN Program), RN to MSN, or even LVN to BSN programs with inexpensive nursing degrees from our partner universities. We also partner with leading universities to offer certificate programs such as: Project Management, Paralegal, or Lean Six Sigma Online.

With our programs you can earn online degrees and certificates from leading universities such as Regis University, Indiana State University, Purdue University, Boston University, and even eCornell.

But, The College Network support is what I am focusing on in this blog entry. Online classes can be daunting. You might start thinking: "How can I get help?" "How can I contact my peers?" "What if I am confused about a certain area of study?" The College Network has taken into account these aspects of online education, and we strive to make sure you know that online doesn't have to mean alone.

We have many systems in place to help ensure success. Online live chat with one of our specialists is just one way to get help. You may also contact us via telephone or email. We have specialists just waiting to help students having trouble. Being that we offer online courses, it is especially great that we have staff to make sure you are not alone in your studies. Online discussion boards are also in place to contact other students.

Remember, You Are Not Alone.
you're not alone

So don't be afraid to enroll in online education with the help of The College Network. We will be with you along every step of the way.

Evolution

I just updated my Adobe CS5 package this week. I was so happy when I saw the update for Dreamweaver included HTML5 extensions. HTML5 is the upcoming standard for web development. If you own an iPad, I am sure you're aware of HTML5. The major roadblock is that the amount of iPad users is so small, and most people do not have Internet browsers ready for HTML5.

Internet Explorer 9 for Windows is supposed to be ready for HTML5, but Internet Explorer 9 may not be available for WindowsXP users. In reality, HTML5 standards may not be written for another couple of years, but it is good to see that I have the ability to be ready for the future. I am excited to experiment with these new HTML5 extensions.

I have heard about test groups using iPads and Kindles in the classroom. And generally, these test groups have responded positively. With the upcoming releases of additional tablet-computers on the market, it is important for a designer, like me, to be ready for the future and not hold too tight to the past.

Personally, I see tablet computers being a big part of  education in the future and a tool for many industries. From Nurses to Project Managers, these highly mobile computers can be a great advance in the way we work.

We live in such a quickly changing world, I advise everyone to continue learning and to be ready for the future. At The College Network, we offer online degrees and certificates from our various partner universities for those people who are looking to continue their education. And since The College Network and its partners allow you to take the courses online it puts you in a perfect position to be ready for the future, not to mention to make better money.

Year-round education

Wednesday, October 13, 2010 by Stanley Dixon
As a new father, I have already began thinking of the education of my child. I have been interested in year-round elementary school. In these fast moving times, it is important for me to not have to bend to the antiquated schedules of the past.

At The College Network, there is a similar mentality. Why should someone have to go to school on those old schedules? People now have the choice of studying when they have the time. There is no need for waiting on the next semester to start. If a student learns more quickly, that student should continue to learn rather than waiting for others to catch up before moving on. Online education is a great advance in the way we can go to college, and The College Network is a great place to start.

Worldwide

We have such a great service at The College Network, it's a shame that we are not helping more of the people out there who are interested in our inexpensive nursing degrees and accelerated certificate programs.

I have read some of our testimonials which have helped people who recently moved to the United States receive the proper credentials to continue working in their chosen career path. This is another great reason I have to be proud of the company I work for. Our program advisors really try to help those who have the drive to succeed.

We offer such a broad range of options for those people looking to better their lives. From paralegal, to project management, and production, not to mention our plethora of nursing degrees and certifications. All of these will yield diplomas/certificates from accredited and recognized partner schools. We really do have something for everyone.

Thinking about the future

Tuesday, September 21, 2010 by Stanley Dixon
I have been lucky to keep in contact with many of my friends since childhood. Though as adults we are unable to spend much time together these days.

I recently was at a party for a deceased friend. Even though it was a sad event, I was happy to see so many people I have not seen in years. Many of them were thinking about their future, and future careers, in particular. Surprisingly, many of them were still getting their education. We are in our mid-30s now, and most of us have had some sort of career already. It really made me look at the validity of The College Network. So many of them were struggling to get their education while having to work to pay the bills.

I am not a Program Advisor, but I've heard from them that, "our programs sell themselves." They were right. Hearing the hurdles my friends were facing, I told them of The College Network and how we help students save money and time.

Some of my friends were LPNs and realized that earning a RN, BSN, or MSN was much more important than they had originally thought. I was surprised that I was able to give them so much information about our LPN to RN, RN to MSN, and RN to BSN degree programs which were unbeknownst to them.

I had other friends who were studying for Paralegal Certification. I shared information about our programs with them as well. They had very positive feedback on the information I presented. (And, like I said, I'm not even a Program Advisor.)

Project Management, and the Six Sigma certifications were other courses I discussed with friends. The College Network has something for just about everyone.

It seems that now, almost all of my friends are taking a serious look at their future. Education is a big part of that. It is great to be able to help them by offering them an alternative to a campus- based college.

Testify

Wednesday, September 8, 2010 by Stanley Dixon
One of my many recent job duties has been to implement "like" and "share" buttons within our testimonial sections of The College Network website. It has given me a chance to browse the positive opportunities we have created for so many people. Most memorably, I have read about people who have gone to school and recieved credits, but have had trouble getting those credits to transfer.

This is a perk regarding The College Network. Since we work with many schools, we can find the right school for you and often make sure those costly credit do not go to waste as long as they are regionally accredited. I can't imagine realizing I spent so much time, money, and effort, only to be told "sorry, but we'll need you to retake this course." We are sincerely trying to help people better their lives.

Company Pride

After working at The College Network for the last few months I am really glad to be here. It is very important for me believe in the business I work for. We really are doing a good thing by offering inexpensive nursing degrees through good nursing schools which are regionaly accredited (which actually trumps national accreditation). We can actually save returning students money by working through our educational partners, such as Indiana State University, eCornell, Boston University, and Regis University, just to mention a few.

In this troubled economy it is a perfect opportunity to take online courses for nursing to make more money when we start seeing recovery. We also offer certificates in project management and lean six sigma green belt for jobs in manufacturing. We offer other online degrees and certificates as well. There is something for everyone here, and the diplomas come from universities with nationwide name recognition and respesct.

In all, it makes me proud to work at The College Network where we are bettering peoples lives while saving them time and money.
